Old Faithful

Having left the beautiful Tetons we journeyed north to Yellowstone. Driving through miles of forest much of which was still burned out from the 1988 fire, We turned left on the grand loop of Yellowstone and headed for the Old Faithful Village. We began our tour of the area with a short viewing of the Old Faithful Inn (please note that we did not stay there but only poked our heads in to view).

We then headed out to watch old faithful do her thing (and I don’t mean Cissie).

We then proceeded to view a myriad of thermal features (geysers, fumaroles, mud pots and hot springs).

The list of animals that we encounters included two ground squirrels, a few birds, one buffalo, a squirrel that ran amok in our cafeteria, and an elk in front of our car outside our restaurant (obviously if we want to see more wildlife we have to eat more often).

We hiked a minimum of 10 miles today, and our paddy feet are tired.

Btw I took a picture of elk poop for those who might be interested in such a thing (Lya?) All in all it was another beautiful and wonderful day of our vacation.
